Superbowl Sweets, and then some!

Our Main bakery (1060 South Fairfax) has geared up for tomorrow's game with some ready-to-go party cakes. If you want to make your own tail-gate party a little sweeter, pop over to the bakery and pick up a last minute treat!

With Season One wrapping, it was the perfect opportunity to throw a cast party...

Ironman glows with good taste...

...and Tony starts some airbrushed details to this Little Mermaid cake for this afternoon.

Too Cool for School...

Tap Out founder Marc Creiner and Patrick Hansen shared a moment of brotherhood in the bakery. Can you imagine what kind of cake we'll come up with for such a cool company?

Then there is lovely, truly lovely.
This delicately detailed hand-piped lace creation is entirely butter creme (but for the bow, which needed to be fondant to attain that magnificent shape!)

Can you believe how intricate this sweet lace pattern is?
Hours of tatting here.

Could this be for a VERY large game of Mah Jongg? Hmmm.....

21st Century Cakes!

We are so modern. With a bigger-than-we-could-ever-imagine flat screen plasma television smack dab in the center of our freshly remodeled Beverly Drive studio (thanks to Master Mister Michael Willms) we now have a continuous slide show featuring our cake designs, bakery scenes, and Willms events. It's our new favorite show...even the reruns are thrilling!
Here's a peek at a cake we made for a film shoot yesterday...we'll tell you all about which show later. Gotta have some mystery.
By the way, talking about television, keep your eyes open for a cool new show to air, featuring an episode with our own owner, Patrick Hansen. It's called Tool Academy on VH1, and you're going to love it...set your TiVo!

Sunday we participated in Festival of Brides at the Beverly Hills Hotel...a gala extravaganza filled with wonderful vendors, beautiful people, and fun fun fun! We passed out so much cake that we practically passed out!

Patrick came up with these cleverly sliced samples for the Festival of Brides event...so creamy-good that people came back for more more more!

We've Been Busy...

Yes, we've been busy...making/baking/caking!
This big read is a replica of author Lee Goldberg's latest addition to his Monk series of books...but this edition is made out of our delicious chocolate cake with chocolate chip butter creme filling. They'll be serving it up tomorrow afternoon at his book signing event at The Mystery Book Store in Westwood. Yum.

One of our special designs...Sweet Temptation all squared up!

One of our favorite customers is having a backward-birthday tonight. Happy Birthday Isabella (or should we say Mrs. Cullen?)

Here is a special Year of the Ox celebration cake...

The Wife...

We just wanted to share a photo of owner Patrick Hansen's lovely wife, Tanya. They met here at the bakery back when she was just a little sprout; mucho years and two kids later, they're still part of that elusive happily-ever-after demographic that is not really an urban legend.

We love you Tanya!!!

Color...

Hannah Montana rocks, so we made a 'rockin cool cake for a special 7th birthday girl. Yow!

The chiller is loaded up with today's custom cakes. We're boxing 'em up and passing them out, so we can make room for tomorrow's orders...
...but you gotta see this GIANT sheet cake (feeds 200!)
Talk about a special delivery!

Our friend Mariane (Duy's wife from our favorite printer, Copy Cats in Whitter!) celebrated her birthday with a Hello Kitty Hansen's Cake.

Happy Birthday, Mariane!

Inauguration Cake?

In five short days, we will all be glued to our televisions, to watch the inauguration of our new president.

How about ordering a deliciously appropriate cake to share with friends, to celebrate the occasion?
It's going to be a sweet administration!

Wait 'til you see how this cake comes out...it's a winner!

Tracy dons the latest in haute couture, Hansen's-style. Tres chic!

Just in "case" you didn't know...

We make luggage; we make purses. Anything you can think of, we make. All deliciously created out of our scrumptious cake and filling.
All gloriously impressive.

This particular carry-on was created for longtime friend-of-the-bakery, gown doyenne Renee Strauss, who is having a film crew shoot a piece featuring her wedding dresses (and our cake!) at her salon on Wilshire Boulevard.

This briefcase filled with edible blueprints was created for our friends at the Hotel Angelino. They have the most spectacular view on the Westside in their top-floor West Restaurant.

No, that is not a block of wood that the "briefcake" is sitting on...it too, is our yummy cake, hand painted with wood grain to set off the case and blueprints.

Make-up!

A child's dream comes true with this colorful Candyland cake, surrounded by our own sweet cupcakes!

Lovely to look at...

...and elegant to boot!
