Handpainting and airbrush techniques have been a part of what we do for so long. Here's a look at part of the process (as demonstrated by Javier.)

After painting in the character, Javi adds some airbrushed shading, then gets to the background.
An aura that glows fiery yellow is the first step, then he adds a deep red to make it pop.

Then, an atmosphere is added; this design called for a flaming red and yellow sky.
