Sometimes we get so caught up in things that we don't even have time to stop and take a quick photo to remember and share what we are making. We did take a moment, however, when this full sheet was done, as it was just so holiday-inspiring!

Then this trio of trains caught the camera's attention on the way back to the front.

Happy Holiday!

We would like to wish you and yours the happiest of Thanksgiving Holidays. May your table be full and your tummies content, whether you are enjoying a feast of freshly roasted turkey...

...or a fat juicy cheeseburger!

A Beverly Hills Thanksgiving...

We made a special Thanksgiving cake for our friends in the Catering office at the Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows. This iconic hotel gives us such a warm nostalgic feeling every time we drive by.

Now this is not cake. It is a fresh baked honey ham that decorator Alberto cooked up for all of us, starting off the Thanksgiving feast a little earlier than most. The guys cooked up a turkey, beef brisket, and all the 'fixins as well...we'll be eating all day today and tomorrow.
What are we having for dessert?
Why, a Hansen's Cake, of course!

A Really Big Shew...

Everything is happy-ning so fast this week. Thanksgiving in almost upon us, our newly remodeled Beverly Hills showroom is getting the final half of the Willms treatment (check out the new window!) and the cakes are getting bigger than ever!
.
We've been scheduled, by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, to have an official Grand-reopening of the shop on Tuesday, December 2nd, at 10am. If you're in the neighborhood, pop over for a photo-op with Beverly Hills Mayor Barry Brucker.

Christian Audigier (of Ed Hardy fame) ordered up a special cake for his daughter's birthday last night. Talk about having big shoes to fill...!
Jose was up to the challenge, sculpting an impressive size 500 pump!

He carefully frosted the cake in our special butter creme (can we all say: NOT FONDANT in unison!)
and added the special logo to the side. Gorgeous!

Hey!
Did you know that we're now offering up fresh baked pies? They're mouth-wateringly-delicious!
Which flavor of pie is your favorite?

Beauty is as Beauty does...

One of the lovliest creations that we've seen all month is this very tall wedding gown cake. Layer upon layer of our most delicious Bridal White cake was hand sculpted by Jose to come up with this mannequin of cake; there is absolutely no fondant used on this (or 99.9% of our other cakes!)
The painted-on edible metallic details just enhance the cake's couture look without denying the flavor.

Fit for a princess...

...and a few favorite customers get into the ordering groove.

Santa is all suited up for a yummy holiday season...

...and an annual luncheon cake matched the e-invitation exactly.

Elegance...

The weekly Willms window at the Beverly Drive location is just breath-taking. Michael has created a Thanksgiving tableau which just whispers elegant. Our turkey cake is set off by a gorgeous arrangement of flowers created by our own Ruben Ramirez, and the linens & other furnishings are by Wild Flower, Classic Party Rentals, and Chameleon Chairs (love the leather!) The cakes are all by Hansen's (duh...)

Back at the bakery, a little foriegn exchange student from Israel (her name is Yuval) dropped by to see what an American bakery was like. She had a fun time learning to decorate one of our fabulous cupcakes, and learned a thing or few about piping on icing!

We had an extra-specially great time at The Bridal Showplace event on Sunday in Pasadena. We met so many engaged gals & grooms who enjoyed our freshly cut slices of our white cake with lemon filling, marble cake with tiramisu, and white cake with french butter creme & white chocolate chips. There wasn't a single slice left by the end of the afternoon, even with our creative cutting methods. We managed to shave out 125 slices out of each sheet!

Here's a look at a cool cake for an even cooler little man...

...and somebody got to monkey around with this sheet!

Bursting with Color...

A festive mood fills the room today, as a rash of fresh designs have been ordered for the weekend. One of our favorites is this Hanna Montana/Mickey Mouse themed two-tier which seems to be bursting with positive energy. The colors and dimensional elements add to the youthful feel...you know there will be an excited "discussion" as to who will get to have the piece with Miley Cyrus' face on it!

Gina used her skills to make this lively pink & brown creation which embodies today's style. It is sure to become a classic!

Jose got ta' piping today...

...while Suzi made some beautiful music.

Pam was groovin' peacefully while the rest of the gang got down to business.

Edibly translated...

...a visual poster aids our artist (Suzi) in the creation of a cake for the cast of The Visit. The cast relishes an abundance of our butter creme, so she made sure to make this party cake using a pipe-on/airbrush technique instead of just printing the image out on our special food-safe printer. The dimension adds a sinister spin to an already haunting image!

One of the people at that cast party will not be able to partake of that cake (food allergies) so we made him a very special strawberry shortcake that he is not required to share. Yes, some consider our 6" round to be a single-serving cake. We don't have a problem with that!
