Fun, Fun, Fun...

Gina hand-painted freshly rolled fondant to create some faux-film strips. With Hollywood being such a big part of our local culture, we get a lot of calls to recreate the icons of LaLaLand.
We tweak out our own interpretations of familiar landmarks and logos, taking care not to step on any toes in the process!

Here is our take on a celebrity star; you can see where Gina's fondant work plays a key focal point in the design. Hooray for Hollywood!

Tony went all islander on us this morning when he garnished this round with beautiful blossoms. He has quite the artistic eye!

Suzi created this yummy slumber party-themed cake for Adrianna Robakowski, who celebrated her 11th birthday with a gaggle of girls in Beverly Hills. We've heard that they saved the slab with the character for later on today (ooh...sugar rush!)

A cuddly teddy bear fills this sweet cake box...dee-licious!
Jose went all out when he carefully sculpted, iced, and decorated this free-standing Spider Man creation.
Talk about spectacular!

The person who picks up this special cake will need to place it either in the trunk or on the floor in the front seat so as not to have it at an angle. No driving with our cakes on a seat or lap...that would just make Mr. Spidey tip right over!

A careful drive will be able to transport a cake like this over any windy road or steep hill, (as with any of our cakes!) as long as care is taken to brake properly and drive very slowly!
We have cringed in sheer horror at times when we see an unknowing client put a cake in the lap of a passenger; fortunately we're usually able to nip those happenings in the bud by running out and guiding the clients as to where to place the cake in the car for the safest transport. There are still occasional lead-foot disasters from those who didn't remember that there was delicate cargo in the back, but those instances are few and far between!

This clever client brought in a special bottle of Moet for us to decorate around. The "crystal-ed" "ice" in the silver bucket is so tasty in itself...Patrick Hansen gets very creative in his uses of edible materials!
